➢ The international scientific and practical event on “Human Rights and Legitimate
Interests are the Highest Values of the State and Society” was organized by the
Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human

Rights (Ombudsman) on February 23. It is also the 27 anniversary of the
establishment of the Ombudsman Institution of Uzbekistan. Chief Ombudsman
Mr. Şeref Malkoç participated online and gave a speech at the session on the
rights of persons with disabilities.
➢ On March 22, Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç had an online meeting with
the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary Dr. Ákos Kozma.
➢ Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç paid a visit to Azerbaijan to attend the
conference “Protection of Human Rights in Member States of the Parliamentary
Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA)” on May 24-26.

➢ On June 20-24, upon the invitation of Human Rights Commissioner of
Kazakhstan Ms. Elvira Azimova, Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç and the
accompanying delegation paid a study visit to Nur-Sultan (Astana) to participate
in the second regional consultations themed “Experiences of National Human
Rights Mechanisms to Protect Women’s Rights and Ensure Their Security in the
Face of Challenges and Threats in Central Asia and Afghanistan” organized by
the Ombudsman Institution of Kazakhstan.
➢ The Ombudsman Institution participated in the conference hosted by the Office
of the Public Defender of Georgia on September 26-28, themed “The Rights of
the Elderly and the Role of the Ombudsman and Mediator Institutions”, held in
Tbilisi in cooperation with the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen, of
which the Ombudsman Institution is a member.

➢ The Ombudsman Institution hosted the European Ombudsman Institute (EOI)
Board of Directors Meeting on 8 October 2022 in Istanbul.

➢ Along with the General Assembly Meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation
Ombudsman Association (OICOA), hosted by the Commissioner for Human
Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 18 October 2022, the

23 Board of Directors Meeting of the Asian Ombudsman Association, of which
the Ombudsman Institution is also a member, was held in Baku.
➢ On November 16, Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç and his accompanying
delegation paid a visit to Russia to attend the VI. International Scientific and
Practical Conference “Human Rights Protection in Eurasia: Exchange of Best
Practices of Ombudsmen” and the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance (EOA)
