THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE
I. RELATIONS WITH MEDIA
In 2022,
➢ The Ombudsman Institution appeared in the media 15,924 times in total,
including 2,336 in the printed media, 1,132 on television, and 12,456 on
news websites.
➢ The Ombudsman Institution gave a total of 55 interviews to agencies, newspapers
and magazines.
➢ The Ombudsman Institution participated in 25 live broadcasts of TV channels.
➢ During regional conferences and working visits, meetings and interviews were
held with around 265 local press members and representatives of the media in
various cities across Türkiye.
➢ Through the Ombudsman Institution’s social media accounts, more than 48,200
social media interactions have been made by Turkish citizens.
➢ In addition, in 2022, the Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye website was visited
489,860 times, website for children 39,272 times, and databank about decisions
103,699 times, the website for women, 4,005 times, and the e-application page
889,888 times.
J. TRAINING ACTIVITIES
In 2022, with the aim of increasing the competence, knowledge, manners and experi-
ence of the personnel, as well as the problem-solving ability to ensure that complaints
are resolved quickly and accurately, in accordance with international standards and
to increase institutional capacity, the Ombudsman Institution carried out 34 training
activities for personnel. In this sense, in 2022, an average of 3 trainings were provided
each month.
➢ Furthermore, a “Cooperation Protocol” was signed between the Ombudsman
Institution and Ankara University Turkish and Foreign Languages Application
and Research Center (TÖMER) on 15 February 2022, with the aim of increasing
the quality of Ombudsman Institution Experts and staff in the field of foreign
language.
➢ 15 Experts of the Ombudsman Institution for 1 month and 21 Experts for 5 days
were sent to do their internship in institutions such as ombudsman and human
rights institutions, ECHR, Venice Commission, the Court of Justice of the EU
in order to increase their knowledge and experience.
➢ The Ombudsman Institution provided following trainings: orientation training
given by the departments and the coordinators of the departments, candidate
officer training given by Ankara University, multi-disciplinary conceptual
study debates, preparatory training given in the Justice Academy, computer
operator training given at Çankaya Public Education Center and visits to the
