B. RELATIONS WITH UNIVERSITIES

As of 2022, the number of the University Ombudsman Clubs has reached 150.
➢ A cooperation protocol was signed between the Ombudsman Institution and
the Turkish Red Crescent on August 17 in order to spread the culture of Red
Crescent and volunteerism among the students of Ombudsman Clubs, and the
culture of ombudsman and seeking legal remedies among the youth within the
Red Crescent.
➢ “Children’s Rights and the Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye” training was
organized on 24 February 2022 and “Peer Education” training was organized on
28 February 2022 for University Ombudsman Club students.
➢ The Ombudsman Institution organized conferences on “Ombudsman and
Türkiye’s goals for 2023” at the Eastern Mediterranean University on January
13, Girne American and Final International Universities on January 14, Alanya
Alaaddin Keykubat University on March 10, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University
on March 23, Amasya and Tokat Universities on May 18, Maltepe and Yalova
Universities on June 2, Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University on November 21,
Tunceli Munzur University on November 22, Elazığ Fırat University November
23.
➢ On 5 March 2022, a training on “Hate Crimes and Discrimination” was held
for the students of the Presidency of Religious Affairs International Theology
Program.
➢ As part of the “Ombudsman Meets with Youth” program, the Ombudsman
Institution came together with the students of Sivas Cumhuriyet University on
May 17, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa and Amasya Universities on May 18, and Yalova
and Istanbul Maltepe Universities on June 2.
➢ University students who do clinical work in the Ombudsman Institution were
presented their certificates with a ceremony held on February 4 and July 1.
➢ Online meetings were held with the heads of the Ombudsman clubs on July 20
and with the lecturers of the Ombudsman Clubs on July 21.
➢ On October 3-5, the Ombudsman Institution came together with representatives
of Ombudsman Student Clubs at the workshop held at the Red Crescent
Heybeliada Camp.
➢ Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç came together with the students of the
Ombudsman Clubs of the universities in the Marmara Region within the

scope of the “4 World Nomad Games” organized by the World Ethnosport
Confederation in Iznik, Bursa.
➢ The students of İnönü University and the members of the National Turkish
Student Union Malatya Provincial Presidency visited the Ombudsman Institution
on 2 December 2022.
