THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE

Institution, Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç had an online meeting with
Commissioner for Fundamental Rights (Ombudsman) of Hungary Dr. Akos
Kozma. Subsequently, a study visit was conducted to Hungary on 31 March
- 2 April 2022 and the information and findings the Ombudsman Institution
obtained as a result of the study visit were shared with the public with the “Report
on the Study Visit Conducted to Hungary Related to Ukrainian Refugees by the
Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye”
➢ In addition, on 16 May 2022, the introductory meeting of the “On-site
Investigation Report on Human Rights in Karabakh” prepared by the Ombudsman
Institution of Türkiye was held with the participation of Chief Ombudsman of
Türkiye Mr. Şeref Malkoç and Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman)
of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva, and the report announced to
the public with this meeting.

III. DISSEMINATION OF THE CULTURE OF SEEKING
LEGAL REMEDIES

In Türkiye, some of the ways people can apply in order to seek legal remedies are the
Human Rights and Equality Institution, Personal Data Protection Authority, Review
Board of Access to Information, Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Directorate of
Communications -Presidency’s Communication Center (CİMER) and Open Door
applications- where individuals can convey their information, opinions, requests,
complaints and demands regarding public services.
