THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE
Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the Constitutional Court, the Council of
State and the Supreme Court and introductory trainings were given especially
for the Assistant Experts who have just started working in the Ombudsman
Institution. Additionally, trainings were given regarding the Assistant Experts
to be appointed as Experts, preparatory training before the dissertation defense,
scientific research methods and dissertation writing techniques, and dissertation
sections and training on the use of Mendeley software.
➢ In addition to this, in-service trainings continued to be given in order to
empower the personnel of the Institution. In this context, the Ombudsman
Institution provided the following trainings in 2022: in-service training regarding
unaccompanied minors, competence-based professional development training,
adult training and effective presentation techniques, protection of personal
data and information security training, effective communication methods and
techniques training, strategic human resources management training, in-service
training carried out by the staff of the Social Security Institution (SGK), Center
for Labor and Social Security Training and Research (ÇASGEM) occupational
health and safety training, training related to the regulations on the procedures
and principles to be applied in official correspondence, information security
and personal data management system awareness trainings, children’s rights
training, women’s rights training, quality assurance systems training, training
on international human rights protection mechanisms, and immigration and
immigrant rights in national and international law training.
K. ADDED VALUE OF THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION
The Ombudsman Institution carries out various activities in order to receive applica-
tions that are more qualified and to spread the culture of seeking legal remedies. In
that sense, the contribution of the Ombudsman Institution to Türkiye in easing the
workload of the judiciary with its amicable settlement initiatives and decisions is indis-
putable. In this context, the Ombudsman Institution;
➢ has contributed to the good functioning of the administration with the
recommendations it issued in order to comply with the principles of good
administration, and has contributed the participation of the citizens in the
administration.
➢ has contributed to the solution of problems that concern large masses by
amending regulations,
➢ in individual applications, not only solved the problem of the citizen directly, but
also clarified the legal status of people in similar situations,
➢ in the applications regarding information requests, found a solution to the
problem of the citizen and provided legal assistance to the citizen and made the
relevant referrals.
