THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE

➢ The Ombudsman Institution was
represented at expert level at the “Roman
Rights Summit”, organized by the Human
Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye
(HREIT) and hosted by the Constitutional
Court of Türkiye, on 26 May 2022.

➢ Judge Mr. Anıl Çetin and Ms. Expert Seçil Gülçat from the Ombudsman Institution
attended the online meeting on 01.03.2022 themed “Post-Pandemic Normalization
Plans” within the scope of the “Project for Enhancing the Effectiveness of Civil
Monitoring Boards” carried out with the technical support of the Council of Europe
in order to strengthen civilian control in penitentiary institutions. In order to
participate in the training of trainers and then to take part in the dissemination
trainings,
• Expert Ms. Asena Yeşiltaş Göğer participated in the program held in Istanbul on
23-25 May 2022.
• Expert Ms. Seçil Gülçat participated in the program dated 24-27 May 2022.

• Expert Ms. Seçil Gülçat and Ms. Asena Yeşiltaş Göğer participated in the
roundtable meeting program held in Bolu on 29-30 June 2022.

• Expert Ms. Seçil Gülçat participated in the Istanbul Dissemination Training
Program as a trainer, on 3-6 September 2022.

• Expert Ms. Asena Yeşiltaş Göğer participated in the Gaziantep Dissemination
Training Program as a trainer, on 27 September 2022.

➢ Ombudsman Atty. Fatma Benli Yalçın visited Director General of Civil Registration
and Citizenship Affairs Mr. Şefik Aygöl, on 9 June 2022 in his office.

➢ Experts Mr. İbrahim Çiftsüren and Mr. Yasin Varol, representing the Ombudsman
Institution, attended the International Summit themed “National Human Rights
Institutions and Their Enhancing Role in Protection and Promotion of Human
Rights: Understanding the New Challenges, Gains and Opportunities” held by
Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye (HREIT) on 29-30 June 2022.

➢ The Ombudsman Institution was represented at expert level in the closing conference
of the European Union-Council of Europe Joint Project, “Strengthening the Capacity
of Bar Associations and Lawyers on European Human Rights Standards” held on 23
June 2022.

➢ The Ombudsman Institution was represented at expert level in the 3 online Project
Executive Committee meeting on the European Union Project titled “Supporting
Repatriation Centres’ Capacities and Fostering Alternatives to Administrative
Detention” held on 23 August 2022.
