THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE
cooperation of UNICEF Türkiye and the support of Mardin Provincial Directorate of
Youth and Sports.
Within the framework of the Ombudsman Institution's Program to Strengthen
Communication and Relationships with Children and Youth, with the cooperation of
UNICEF Türkiye and with the support of Samsun Provincial Directorate of Family
and Social Services, "OI and Children's Rights Training Program" for children and
youth who are members of the Provincial Child Rights Committee in Samsun has been
conducted on September 21-22, 2021.
Training on OI and Children's Rights was organised by the Ombudsman Institution
for the Lawyers of the Mardin Bar Association on 22 October 2021.
Considering the large number of applications made to our institution in the field
of children's rights, there is a need to take up to date measures to prevent violations
of children's rights during the pandemic process, within the framework of the best
interests of the child. For this reason, to contribute to the formation of an integrated
and rights-based child policy in our country and to enable children to realise their
current potential, in addition in order to raise the increasing needs and demands of
children during the pandemic process, OI invited non-governmental organizations
and held a consultation meeting on "Children's Rights in the Pandemic Process" on
07.10.2021.
Upon the invitation of the Samsun Bar Association Child Rights Commission, a
training on OI and Children's Rights was organised on 22 September 2021 for the
Lawyers of the Samsun Bar Association.
Our Institution participated in the World Conference on Youth Rights on "Inclusion
of Youth in Global Action", which was hosted by the National Human Rights Center
of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 12-13 August 2021.
EDUCATION, YOUTH AND SPORTS
At every stage of education, individuals constantly apply to our Institution about the
problems they experience with educational institutions opened and operated by State or
private individuals. Subjects related to the exams held by the OSYM Presidency and the
Ministry of National Education which hold central exams in our country and the exams
of higher education institutions, processes and decisions made regarding students,
recognition, equivalence and equivalence processes and applications within the scope
of higher education services, external and undergraduate transfer applications, subjects
related to students' requests for scholarships, loans and accommodation, and changing
practices in education due to the pandemic that has been ongoing since the beginning
of 2020, are among the most frequently applied topics.
