Applications made to our Institution regarding social security rights and practices were
usually related to the subjects such as retirement, death, disability pension, payment
of retirement bonus, other retirement transactions, foreign service debt, supervision
activities of the Social Security Institution, general health insurance, undue and
overpayments, insurance periods, premium refunds.
Case Summary
In an application made to our institution, the applicant made a job application within
the scope of the advertisement by the Scientific and Technological Research Council
of Türkiye, stating that he was successful in the interview but that he could not be
recruited because the archive research and security investigation were still ongoing and
made an application to the Ombudsman Institution. Our Institution has requested
information and documents from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of
Türkiye in order to ensure that the application can be resolved in an amicable settlement
and the application can be examined during the research phase of the application, with
the response letter sent to our Institution from the aforementioned administration,
it was stated that the relevant person started to work and it was understood that the
application finalised with an amicable settlement.
CHILDREN'S RIGHTS
Within the framework of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and national
legislation, in the applications that are evaluated with the child-friendly approach
determined in the OI Child Rights Strategy, the right to privacy, the right of the child
to participate in decisions about himself, the right to be protected against all kinds
of violence and neglect, the right to education of children with autism, with special
needs, the right to safe and uninterrupted internet use and access to information, the
increasing number of children during the quarantine period to spend their free time
in the environment where the child lives, right to play, to rest, to participate in sports
and cultural activities, right to live in a healthy and balanced environment, and right to
social assistance gained importance during the pandemic process.
In the applications of children who apply by accessing the OI children's website in
2021, problems of accessing lessons in the distance education process during the
pandemic period, tablet or computer need, matters such as social assistance and
consumer credit requests, due to the decrease or insufficient household income, due to
the unemployment or unpaid leave of their parents, it was observed that the increase
continued in 2020 .
