• On 31 October 2022, the new Ambassador of the
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to Ankara Mr.
İsmet Korukoğlu visited the Chief Ombudsman Mr.
Şeref Malkoç in his office.

• On 14 December 2022, Chief Ombudsman Mr.
Şeref Malkoç and Ombudsman Ms. C. Özlem
Tunçak paid a return visit to the Ambassador of the
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to Ankara Mr.
İsmet Korukoğlu.

Online Training with the Commission for Protection against Discrimination
of Bulgaria (January 26)

It was decided to carry out joint training activities
within the framework of the Memorandum of
Understanding signed in 2019 between the
Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye and the
Commission for Protection against Discrimination
of Bulgaria. As a result of mutual correspondence,
it was agreed that the first training would be given
in an online meeting to be organized by the
Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye. The mentioned training was held online on
26 January 2022. The subject of the first training given by the Ombudsman Institution
of Türkiye was determined as "Complaint Application Procedures, Complaint
Handling Process and Types of Decisions of the Ombudsman Institution of
Türkiye". In the training, where Expert Mr. Yalçın Aktekin made a presentation,
information was given about the Ombudsman Institution. After presenting information
about receiving applications, the preliminary examination and distribution processes,
Mr. Aktekin explained the processes such as preliminary examination, examination and
investigation, reporting of the complaints received by the Ombudsman Institution. Mr.
Aktekin also provided information on evaluation, issuing decisions and follow-up of
decisions.
