Visit of UNICEF Türkiye to the Ombudsman Institution (July 28)

On 28 July 2022, UNICEF Türkiye paid a visit to the Ombudsman Institution to share
information and consult on the family reunification of Ukrainian children who were
unaccompanied due to the war situation and the role of ombudsmen in the region in
this regard.
The aforementioned delegation was accepted by Ombudsman Ms. C. Özlem Tunçak.
On behalf of UNICEF, the delegation consisting of UNICEF Representative to Türkiye
Mr. Paolo Marchi, Chief of Child Protection Mr. James Gray and Justice for Children
and Child Rights Monitoring Specialist for UNICEF Türkiye Mr. Göktan Koçyıldırım
attended the visit.

Visit of GRECO Delegation to the Ombudsman Institution (October 6)

On 6 October 2022, Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref
Malkoç received the GRECO delegation that visited
the Ombudsman Institution within the scope of their
Türkiye visit. After the meeting, the delegation held a
meeting with Ombudsman Mr. Sadettin Kalkan and
Ombudsman Ms. C. Özlem Tunçak. Within the
scope of the Fifth Evaluation Phase of the Group of
States against Corruption (GRECO), operating
within the Council of Europe, an on-site inspection visit was held on 3-7 October
2022. The evaluation phase addresses the issues of preventing corruption and promoting
integrity in central governments (top executive functions) and law enforcement
agencies.
In this context, with regard to the second part of the Fifth Evaluation Phase, titled
"Preventing Corruption and Promoting Integrity in Law Enforcement Units", a face-
to-face meeting was held with the Ombudsman Institution and other interlocutor
institutions, based on the "Evaluation Report" to be prepared about Türkiye. Mr.
Aidan Moore (Ireland) (Head of Strategic Planning and International Relations of the
Office of the Ombudsman), Ms. Alexandra Kapisovska (Slovak Republic) (Director
of the Corruption Prevention Department) and Mr. Alexandru Cladco (Republic of
Moldova) (Office of the Attorney General, Prosecutor at National Institute of Justice)
from GRECO Evaluation team visited the Ombudsman Institution.

Visit of the Committee on Petitions and Complaints of the Bavarian State
Parliament of Germany (21 November)

On 21 November 2022, the Committee on Petitions
and Complaints of the Bavarian State Parliament of
Germany visited the Ombudsman Institution. The
meeting was chaired by Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref
Malkoç. Chair of the Committee on Petitions and
Complaints Ms. Stephanie Schuhknecht, Members of
