THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE

On 24-26 May 2022, Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç paid a visit to Azerbaijan
to attended as a speaker to the Conference on the Protection of Human Rights in the
Member States of TURKPA (Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States). Mr. Malkoç
also visited the city of Shusha and made observations.

Visit to Kazakhstan (June 20-24)

On 20-24 June 2022, upon the invitation of the
Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of
Kazakhstan Ms. Elvira Azimova, Chief
Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç, along with Chief
of Cabinet Mr. Veysel Şirin and Expert Mr. Emre
Yumuş, paid a study visit to Nur-Sultan to
participate in the Second Regional Consultations
themed “Experiences of National Human Rights Mechanisms to Protect Women's
Rights and Ensure Their Safety in the Face of Challenges and Threats in Central
Asia and Afghanistan” organized by the Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic
of Kazakhstan.

Visit to Switzerland (June 14)

On 14 June 2022, Ombudsman Ms. C. Özlem
Tunçak made a presentation on the work carried
out by the Ombudsman Institution on combating
violence and discrimination against women at the
nd
82 session of the Convention on the Elimination
of All Forms of Discrimination against Women
(CEDAW) held in Geneva. Ombudsman Ms.
Tunçak attended as an observer, representing the
Ombudsman Institution.
