The symposium mainly focused on racism and what needs to be done to prevent hate
crimes. Chief Ombudsman also attended the Symposium as a speaker. He expressed his
concerns due to the rising effects of Islamophobia all around the world and stressed the
importance of efforts in line with justice, fairness, equality and law in fighting against
the Islamophobia.

Meeting with CSOs on Children’s Rights During the Pandemic (7 October)
In order to contribute to the formulation of an integrated and right-based child policy
in the country as well as to discuss the needs and requests of children during the
pandemic, the Ombudsman Institution held a consultation meeting with participation
of civil society organisations functioning in the field of child rights on 7 October 2021.

At the meeting, the role and importance of the Ombudsman Institution in protecting
and promoting the human rights, especially women and children’s rights were stressed,
and exchange of information was provided regarding current problems and possible
solutions in the field of children’s rights.
