THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE

Besides the representatives of the Ombudsman Institution, 400 participants attended
the event including the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Vice Minister of Foreign
Relations, the Head of Bar Association of Türkiye, the representatives of university
ombudsman clubs, high school students, national athletes, representatives of Turkish
Youth Federation and representatives of relevant public institutions.

3.4.3 Relations with Public Institutions

Meetings with Public Institutions
In 2021, many meetings were held with the representatives of the public institutions
and exchange of information was provided during these meetings. Some of the meetings
are summarized as below:
➢ Chief Ombudsman Mr. Malkoç, Ombudsman Mr. Yahya Akman, Ombudsman
Ms. Fatma Benli Yalçın and a group of experts held a meeting with the Deputy
Minister of Justice, General Director of Prisons and Detention Houses and the
Deputy General Directors of Prisons and Detention Houses. During the meeting,
exchange of information was provided regarding modernization of punishment
execution system in the country.
➢ Chief Ombudsman and his Delegation paid a visit to the Human Rights and
Equality Institution of Türkiye on 24 August 2021.During the visit; congratulatory
wishes were conveyed to Mr. Muharrem Kılıç, the newly elected Head of the
Institution.
