Training on Children’s Rights and Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye for Children
in Samsun

During the regional conference in Samsun, a
training was organized for children on “Children’s
Rights and the Ombudsman Institution of
Türkiye” with the support of UNICEF in Türkiye
and Provincial Directorate of Family and Social
Services of Samsun. The program was launched
with opening remarks of the Ombudsman, Ms.
Özlem Tunçak, who is in charge of children’s
rights. Twenty-five children and young people attended the training and were given
certificates of attendance at the end of the training.
Training on Children’s Rights and Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye for Lawyers
of Samsun Bar Association
On 22 September 2021, a training on Children’s
Rights and the Ombudsman Institution was
held for the lawyers of the Bar in Samsun upon
invitation of the Commission on Child Rights
of Samsun Bar Association.
At the training activity, the Chief Ombudsman
Mr. Malkoç gave information about the
mandate, activities, duties, applications
procedures and complaint handling mechanism of the Ombudsman Institution. Later,
training was provided by Judge Ayşe Alperen on the activities of the Ombudsman
regarding child rights, reports and publications in this field, children justice system, the
applications filed to the Ombudsman etc.

Regional Meeting in Mardin (21-22 October)

The Chief Ombudsman,
Mr. Şeref Malkoç and the
Ombudsmen organized
an event in Mardin city
within the scope of the
“Ombudsman Meets the
Public” project on 21-22
October 2021.

Chief Ombudsman and his Delegation visited the Governor of Mardin and the
Acting Metropolitan Mayor at their offices and exchanged information about the city.
