THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE

During the meeting, the annual activities of the mechanisms for seeking legal remedies
in Türkiye and the collaboration areas were evaluated and views were exchanged on the
petitions, requests and complaints of the citizens to other institutions.

the Ombudsman Institution was
announced in the program held in
the Grand National Assembly of
Türkiye on 16 June 2022 with the
participation of Speaker of the Grand
National Assembly of Türkiye Prof.
Dr. Mustafa Şentop, Minister of Interior Mr. Süleyman Soylu, Chief Ombudsman Mr.
Şeref Malkoç, Ombudsmen Mr. Yahya Akman, Ms. Fatma Benli Yalçın, Mr. Arif Dülger,
Mr. Sadettin Kalkan, Ms. C. Özlem Tunçak, deputy ministers, deputies, ambassadors
working in Türkiye, and representatives of relevant institutions and organizations.

Consultation Meeting with Members of the Joint Commission (March 16)
On 16 March 2022, a consultation meeting was
held with the Members of the Joint Commission.

During the visit, the citizens' right to petition, the
effective activities of the mechanisms for seeking
legal remedies in Türkiye, and the work of the
Ombudsman Institution were discussed.

The Visits of Public Defender (Ombudsman) of Georgia to the Grand National
Assembly of Türkiye (April 7)
After the memorandum of understanding between
the Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye and
the Ombudsman Institution of Georgia on the
cooperation between the ombudsman institutions
of the two countries was signed on 7April 2022,
Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç with the
Public Defender (Ombudsman) of Georgia, Ms.
Nino Lomjaria and the accompanying delegation
made a series of contacts at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
