Draft Türkiye Child Rights Strategy Document and Action Plan.
• Ombudsmen Ms. C. Özlem Tunçak and Mr. Yahya Akman, together with Experts
Mr. Volkan Tufan, Ms. Mehtap Küçükbaşak and Ms. Ayşe Deniz Aygün, conducted
investigations at Diyarbakır Penitentiary Institution Campuses on 3 November
2022, within the scope of Diyarbakır Regional Meeting Program.
• Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç, Ombudsman Ms. C. Özlem Tunçak,
responsible for Women's and Child rights, and the accompanying Experts visited a
children's house site where unaccompanied children are accommodated in Istanbul
and met with the staff of the Institution and the children to examine the current
situation, demands and needs of the children.

• Ombudsman Institution Children's Department participated in the 27 Term
Opening Ceremony of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Children's Assembly,
representing the Ombudsman Institution. The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality
Children's Assembly was established to support the rights of children to meaningfully
participate in the decisions taken about them, as guaranteed in the Convention on
the Rights of the Child and carries out activities to implement children's rights in
Ankara and to raise awareness about children's rights. At the ceremony where the
new president and members were presented with their certificates of election, the
members of the Children's Assembly were wished for a happy Activity Term in
which children's rights are implemented.
• On November 20, World Children's Day, a special day on which children's rights
are commemorated worldwide, Ombudsman Ms. Özlem Tunçak, responsible for
women’s rights and child rights , together with Minister of Family and Social Services
Ms. Derya Yanık and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Türkiye

Representative Ms. Regina De Dominicis, participated in the 23 Child Form
Opening Program with the theme of “Climate Change and Child Participation”,
which was organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Family and Social
Services and UNICEF and gained an international character this year with children
from 15 different countries
