THE OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE
• Upon the invitation of the Society for Social Rights and Research Association
(TOHAD), on 8 February 2022, a training on “Ombudsman Institution and Child
Rights” was organized within the scope of the “TOHAD Winter School Program
for Child Rights”, which was held in cooperation with TOHAD and Boğaziçi
University.

students at Sofuoğlu Elementary School on 19
April 2022 in order to promote the children's
website of the Ombudsman Institution and
develop the culture of seeking legal remedies
among children.
• Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç visited Sofuoğlu Elementary School within
the scope of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day and met with the
students.
• Within the framework of the Training Program on Strengthening Communication
and Relations of the Ombudsman Institution with Children and Youth, organized
in cooperation with the Ombudsman Institution and UNICEF, the peer education
program “I am learning about my rights” was held on 8-9-10 June 2022 in
Eskişehir.
• Ombudsman Institution Children's Department participated in the meetings of
the "Children's Advisory Board". The Board ensures coordination of the 81
Provincial Child Rights Committees formed to learn and implement the principles
and provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in all segments of
the society, including adults and children, and to make child participation more
effective. The Board also enables the planning of activities to be carried out at
national and international level. The first meeting of the "Children's Advisory
Board" was held online on 1 February 2022 due to pandemic conditions, and
the second meeting was held on 9-12 June 2022 in Çanakkale. In the meeting, in
order to issue recommendations on matters concerning child rights, and to ensure
that publicity and awareness-raising activities are carried out at the national and
international level, the “Children Advisory Board Action Plan for 2022” was
formed and recommendations were issued (February 1, June 9-12).
• The Ombudsman Institution participated in the “Child Rights Strategy Document
and Action Plan Workshop” held on 30 September 2022, organized by the Ministry
of Family and Social Services in order to receive the opinions of the relevant public
institutions, municipalities, non-governmental organizations, university faculty
members, children and other stakeholders for the protection and development of
