Workshop on Inhuman Pushbacks at the Türkiye - Greece Border
Before preparing a report about the human rights violations experienced due to Greece's
pushback policy, the Ombudsman Institution organized the “Workshop on Inhuman
Pushbacks Experienced on the Türkiye-Greece Border” on 23 February 2022 to listen
to the opinions and suggestions of NGOs. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, Presidency of Migration Management, Coast Guard Command, United
Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Amnesty International, International
Organization for Migration, and Universities and Non-Governmental Organizations
attended the workshop, chaired by Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç and with the
participation of Ombudsman Ms. C. Özlem Tunçak.
