Meeting for the establishment of the Association of Ombudsmen and National
Human Rights Institutions of Turkic States (TÜRKOMB) (May 13)

Association of Ombudsmen and National Human
Rights Institutions of Turkic States (TÜRKOMB) was
established with a meeting held in Bursa on 13 May
2022, hosted by the Ombudsman Institution, in order
to strengthen the bond between the countries speaking
Turkic languages. The meeting was held with the
participation of Chairman of the Council of Elders
(Aksakallılar) Mr. Binali Yıldırım, Chief Ombudsman
Mr. Şeref Malkoç, Chairman of Grand National
Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) Human Rights Inquiry
Commission Mr. Hakan Çavuşoğlu, Commissioner
for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of
Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva, Ombudsman of the
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ms. İlkan Varol,
Human Rights Commissioner of Kazakhstan Ms.
Elvira Azimova, Ombudsman (Akyikatchy) of the
Kyrgyz Republic Ms. Atyr Abdrakhmatova, Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the
Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights Ms. Feruza Eshmatova, Director of the
National Human Rights Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Akmal Saidov,
Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Mr. Mirvokhid Azimov,
Ombudsmen Mr. Arif Dülger, Ms. C. Özlem Tunçak, Mr. Sadettin Kalkan and Mr.
Yahya Akman, Governor of Bursa Mr. Yakup Canbolat, Mayor of Bursa Mr. Alinur
Aktaş and Rector of Bursa Uludağ University Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Kılavuz.
