Introductory Meeting for the “Special Report on Pushbacks in the Aegean Sea
and ‘Pushback’ of Human Rights” (June 16)

Emphasizing that the violations of rights experienced in the face of the silent cries of the
people pushed back to Türkiye's borders are examined, the report, which states that “50
different types of push-backs were carried out and 18 different violations of rights were
detected”, consists of six sections and three comprehensive appendixes. Information and
documents obtained from the relevant units of the UN and EU, international human rights
organizations, and organizations that carry out human rights studies in Greece were used in
the content of the report, which was prepared with the contributions of the representatives
of the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs and National Defense and all relevant public
institutions such as the Coast Guard Command, the Gendarmerie General Command, and
the Presidency of Migration Management.
