3.4.2 Institutional Publicity, Meetings and Events

“Ombudsman Meets the Public” Regional Meetings and Provincial Working Visits
(January-December)
Serving as a bridge between citizens and public administrations, the Ombudsman
Institution continued its activities in 2021 to make citizens familiarize with the activities
of the Institution and to guide them how to file an application to the Institution. In
this regard, regional meetings and provincial working visits were conducted in 2021.
Through such meetings, problems of citizens living in that province are listened.
Moreover, it is aimed to increase citizens’ trust in finding a solution to their problems.
During these meetings, citizens had the chance to express their current problems with
the administration. Thanks to the “speaker’s corner” section at these meetings in the
provinces, around 30 citizens took the floor to express their opinions and problems.
In this regard, some of the provincial meetings and events of 2021 are summarized
below:

Provincial Working Visit to Düzce (13 January)
Chief Ombudsman Mr. Şeref Malkoç and
accompanying delegation paid a working visit to
Düzce on 13 January 2021.

During the visit, Chief Ombudsman Malkoç and
his Delegation met with the Governor of Düzce,
Mr. Cevdet Atay, at his office. At the meeting, the
problems of the city, the on-going works, projcts
and activities were discussed.
Malkoç also had a meeting with the Rector of
Düzce University, Prof. Dr. Nigar Demircan.

Provincial Working Visit to Şırnak (27 May)
Chief Ombudsman Mr. Malkoç and his
Delegation paid a working visit to Şırnak on
27 May 2021.

Mr. Malkoç visited the Governor of Şırnak,
Mr. Ali Hamza Pehlivan, at his office during
which they exchanged information on the
problems of the city, the conducted activities,
projects and works.
