3.1. Some Demographic Indicators
According to the statistical information of the Turkish Statistical Institute,
Türkiye’s population as of 31 December 2019 is 83.154.997. 41.721.136

(50,2%) of the population are male while 41.433.861 (49,8%) are female.
When Türkiye’s population pyramids of the years 2007 and 2019 are compared,
it is seen that the old age population and the middle age population have
increased depending on the decrease in fertility rate as well as the mortality
rate.
