               5.3   ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE QUALIFICATION OF THE PERSONNEL

               With the aim of increasing the competence, knowledge, manners and experience of the
               personnel, as well as the problem-solving ability to ensure that complaints are resolved
               quickly and accurately, in accordance with international standards and to increase
               institutional capacity, the Ombudsman Institution carried out 34 training activities for
               its personnel in 2022. First of all, in terms of the trainings abroad, within the framework
               of the placement activity, 15 Ombudsman Experts participated in internship activities
               for 1 month each in various EU institutions and Ombudsman/National Human Rights
               Institutions in the EU member countries such as Luxembourg, France, Romania,
               Malta, Bulgaria, Slovenia, to learn good practices of relevant institutions on-site and for
               experience sharing. On the other hand, 6 groups of Ombudsman Experts participated
               in  experience  sharing  and  training  activities  for  one  week  in  EU  institutions  and
               Ombudsman/National Human Rights Institutions in European countries in order to
               learn the good practices of the relevant institutions and to share experience.
