Chief Ombudsman Mr. Mehmet Akarca and Ombudsmen Met with the Chairs and Members of the Petition Committee and the Human Rights Inquiry Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye
Chief Ombudsman Mr. Mehmet Akarca and Ombudsmen met with Ms. Derya Yanık, Chair of the Human Rights Inquiry Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT), Ms. Sunay Karamık, Chair of the Petition Committee of the GNAT, and Members of both Committees.
During the meeting with the Committee Chairs and Members, Chief Ombudsman gave information about the general functioning and work of the Ombudsman Institution. He also shared that 10,256 complaints were lodged to the Institution in the first six months of 2025 and that 9,168 complaints were finalized within the same period.
The meeting was also attended by Ombudsmen Mr. Ertunç Erkan Balta, Ms. Fatma Benli Yalçın, Mr. Sadettin Kalkan, Mr. Abdullah Cengiz Makas, Mr. Özcan Yıldız, and the Secretary General of the Ombudsman Institution Mr. Mehmet Doğan.
