Mr. Mehmet Doğan was born in Malatya on 5 March 1984. After graduating from Malatya High School, he earned his law degree from the Faculty of Law at Gazi University in 2007. He then completed his military service in Istanbul.
He began his career as a Candidate Public Prosecutor in Ankara and has held the following positions, respectively: Public Prosecutor in Van; Investigating Judge in the 2nd Criminal, 8th Criminal, and 14th Civil Chambers of the Court of Cassation; Investigating Judge and Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses of the Ministry of Justice; Investigating Judge at the Institution of Prisons and Detention Houses Workshops; Publication Board Investigation Judge at the Board of First Presidency of the Supreme Court of Cassation; Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Court of Cassation; and High Counsellor at the Ministry of Justice.
Mr. Mehmet Doğan, who currently serves as the Secretary General of the Ombudsman Institution, speaks English.
He earned his master's degree in Private Law from Gazi University, specializing in Labor and Social Security Law, with a thesis titled “Propagation of Collective Labor Agreements.”
He is married and has two children.
